WarehouseOS makes the following distinctions between potentially similar processes.
Bundles
Bundles are separate products that are sold together but are stored separately in inventory. When the product is shipped, the components are Picked separately and shipped as-is.
WOS has Bundles built in as a feature. When the Bundle Item appears on an Order, the Bundle is looked up and the individual components are added to the Order.
Assembly
Assembly Items are similar to Bundles with an additional step before shipping. The Assembly Item is sold together but are stored separately in inventory. When the product is shipped, the components are Picked separately. Before the products are shipped, there is a value-add process that is performed to "assemble" the final Item before it is shipped. This could be as simple as special packaging or as complicated as making a new product. The main focus of Assembly Items is that the process is done as part of the Pick & Pack processes.
WOS does not have any processes for Assembly built in. In certain circumstances, for value-add services like embroidery, the WOS integrations can build Work Orders to give directions on the needed work to be performed.
Kitting
Kitting differs from Bundles or Assembly Items in that the final product of the Kitting process is a new Item that is stored in inventory. Instead of Kitting in-line as part of the Picking process, Kitting is a Replenishment process where new Items are manufactured to be stored on the shelf as inventory.
WOS does not have processes for Kitting. Custom Pages are being made available to assist with the conversion of components into a finished inventoried Kits. Details on this process can be found on the Kitting pages.
